The specialist in membrane technologies

Since 1998, ALTING has been working with leading international manufacturers to produce and install membrane technologies for a wide range of applications in various industries.

The genesis of Alting

Gérard M. GERARD, in partnership with his son Stéphane GERARD, founded ALTING on February 1, 1998.

After 31 years with the former German chemical and pharmaceutical group HOECHST, ending as marketing and sales manager for the membranes division, Gérard M. GERARD established a solid partnership to develop the distribution of membranes in France.

These activities were sold by HOECHST to other industrial groups, such as MYCRODYN-NADIR and MEMBRANA, now part of MANN+HUMMEL and SOLVENTUM (formerly 3M Healthcare) respectively, but the partnerships continue.

In 1999, ALTING signed a major commercial agreement with the Japanese company ASTOM, to produce and distribute EDCORE® cells internationally. In 2001, the company set up its production facility in HOERDT.

From distribution to innovation

Over time, the partnerships established when ALTING was founded have extended beyond the simple distribution of membranes.

This cooperation has developed around membrane technologies, evolving towards: joint development, research and development, integration of new products, expansion of product ranges, as well as the creation of new designs.

This collaborative approach, focused on innovation, means that today we can offer membranes that are considered to be the best available in our markets.
